SHOOT IT YOURSELF FAQ
You can make a booking via email, through our booking form or by phone
Once we have established availability for your event we will send you an invoice and contract outlining the details of your booking. After paying your deposit you will then receive a link for your friends to access our online tutorials, manual and day planner. Before commencement of the hire period the contract needs to be signed and returned to us along with three forms of ID. Specifically we require 1 photo ID (your passport or driving licence) and 2 utility bills / credit card or bank statements (with your personal financial information blacked out) from the past 3 months. You can scan and email or photocopy and post copies of these documents to us. Then 4 weeks before your event we’ll send you a questionnaire for you to pick your songs and provide other important information relating to your day.
Payment terms require a deposit of 50% to secure the equipment for your date. The remaining 50% of your balance is due at the consultation stage, 4 weeks before your event date.
Payment can be made via Bank Transfer.
No, Unfortunately we only allow the cameras to be used within the the island of Ireland.

DELIVERY
We can deliver the equipment to any address in the Republic of Ireland, as long as you give us clear instructions. You will need to ensure that someone will be at the address as the courier cannot leave the equipment with a neighbour or in a garage or such like.
The equipment will be delivered two days before your event on a before midday service (depending on location / availability) and will be collected the first working day after your event between 9am-6pm. You need to ensure that someone will be at the address you specify so not to incur additional courier fees or extra rental charges. A missed collection means an extra day of you having the equipment, which means an additional day’s rental fee which is charged at €50 per camera per day.
The equipment will be delivered two days before your event. In the unlikely event that they do not turn up, they will be delivered the next day which is still in time for your event. We cannot be held responsible for any lack of filming due to circumstances outside our control i.e. industrial action or weather, but would offer a full refund if the cameras did not arrive in time for your event. We are happy to say that we have never had a camera not arrive at its destination in time for an event. How are the cameras delivered and how should we return them to you? In order to keep them safe during transit we pack the cameras securely in a padded carry bag and with further surrounding padding. We ask you to return them to us in the same way. We provide full instructions as well as a returns label and even packing tape.
THE EQUIPMENT
Our camera of choice is the Canon Legria HF G25 video camera. This camera is one of the best pro-consumer broadcast quality video cameras on the market and strikes a great balance between compactness, ease of use and advanced features. The camera provides great footage in low light and its external shotgun microphone picks up sound much better than a regular home video camera ever could..
We have selected the Canon Legria HF G25 because it manages to be user friendly at the same time as offering superior picture quality. In fact, the cameras are preset to auto mode so all you have to do is point and press record! We do though provide an online tutorial on how to operate the cameras, and of course one of the benefits of us sending you the cameras two days before your event is that your friends have time to get accustomed to the equipment. Will the cameras be ready to film as soon as we receive them? Yes they will! Before we send out the cameras we fully charge the batteries and check that all the equipment is in good working order. An advantage of us sending you the cameras two days before your event is that your friends can make sure that they are comfortable with the cameras and that everything is in good working order.

We allow for normal wear and tear but if the camera looks like it has been dropped or it has suffered any other kind of damage we would have to send it for a full service and you would be liable for the full cost of repairs..
THE FILMING
Once your booking is confirmed we’ll send you a link to our online tutorials, manual and day planner, for you to then forward to your friends. We’ll show your friends not only how to operate the camera, but we’ll also provide them with LOADS of filming tips and top tips for creating a fun and interactive video! Find out more here.
THE EDITING
We want to produce a unique video in a style that suits you which is why we ask you to help choose the music used throughout the video. We also recommend adding a slide show to the end of the video of the photographs from the day.. This is a great way to combine the photographs and footage captured on the day.
We meticulously go through your footage picking out not only the key moments but also the hidden gems – the in-jokes, the laughter, the personal moments that only your friends could capture of you. If there is anything that stands out that you want included or taken out, you can tell us when you return the cameras.
It takes hours of compression and converting to export your footage from our editing software to DVD. For this reason the DVD we send you is final. We ask you to complete a questionnaire 4 weeks before your event so to gather important information relating to your day as well as your music choices and your choice of edit style. We are very experienced in the realm of editing and know what makes a good video. If you would like the option to make changes, we do offer an extra service as detailed in the packages page.
You can choose any music you want! We purchase a Limited Manufacture License for every video we make which gives you ‘blanket’ permission to legally choose any music for your video. You can tell us your music choices in the questionnaire we send you 4 weeks before your event.
THE FINISHED DVD
For weddings, your completed DVD will last around 90 minutes depending on the footage provided and will be separated into chapters..
This depends on the time of year but on average it takes 6 weeks from the moment you return the cameras to us to the point where we sent you your completed DVD. Please note however that in the height of summer it can take up to 12 weeks.
You’ll receive one copy of your DVD. Additional copies can be purchased for €30 each.
Sure! For only €30 we’ll upload your highlights video to the internet and provide you with a link that you can share with friends and family
